Black Girl Support Group — Our Mission

Black Girl Support Group exists to expand how Black women’s lives, perspectives and culture are represented, explored and experienced through media.

We believe Black women should not simply be represented in media – they should have a hand in shaping the stories, ideas and culture being created around them.

Through social media, podcasts, written work, events and eventually original media, BGSG transforms the experiences and perspectives of Black women into something that can be shared, explored and experienced on a larger scale.

Our mission is to build a platform that reflects the complexity, creativity and lived experiences of Black women – and gives those perspectives room to shape culture.

Founder, Black Girl Support Group

Courtney Bell is the founder and creator of Black Girl Support Group, an emerging media platform and cultural brand built around the lives, perspectives and experiences of Black women. Founded in New York City in 2026, BGSG began with Courtney’s short-form conversations on TikTok and quickly grew into a community of women who wanted somewhere to bring their own stories, questions, opinions and experiences.

Courtney is building BGSG into a modern media platform where Black women are not simply the audience – they are part of the culture, the conversation and the stories being told.

Through social media, the BGSG podcast, written content, community initiatives, events and eventually original media, BGSG is creating a platform where Black women can see their experiences reflected, discover perspectives that feel familiar and bring stories and ideas into a larger cultural conversation.

What started with a TikTok conversation is only the beginning.
